Sometimes practicing an instrument is not easy, even for the most diligent of Suzuki families. There are even times when it can feel like pulling teeth! What are you supposed to do?
I totally get it, as I'm a Suzuki viola and violin teacher who is always encouraging her students to practice. When my students went on a "30 Day Practice Challenge," I joined them by writing the practice tips that became this book.
It includes magic words, secret codes, The Violin Fairy, mysteries, games, "treasure boxes," how to take a practice tour around the world without leaving your house, "violin chess," and the most important thing you need to do before even touching your instrument.
Making practice consistent is a learned skill. For the fraction of the price of a lesson, this book is for those who are learning how to develop that skill, with an emphasis on younger students.
My aim and wish is to help make your practice habit one that is based in positivity, kindness, creativity and fun. These tips helped my students and I hope they will help you as well. Happy practicing!
